London Spirit - great new tshirts
(disclosure - I work for this company, but im not biased gov, honest!)
Some really nice tees are about to be released over at “the draw“. The draw was a
tshirt design competition in correspondence with the London Design Festival. The result is 300 very limited, high quality, hand numbered t shirts (only London Spirit will stay grey). I really like all the designs but especially “london spirit” by tutuf. I think its because I’m starting to miss England and London. This illustration sums up alot that I like about. The grey background is perfect for the often gloomy london skyline. Its just a brilliant concept well executed.
You can “pre-order” them at the site . They’ll go fast. More info and the other two winners in the full post.

Bumper €2000 design competition at La Fraise
I’ve read a few comments on different messageboards about the overuse of cutesy animal style imaging on tshirts. I’m not sure if there are too many, I don’t really wear that style so I pay little attention.
The guys at La Fraise must agree though as they have just launched a “Kill all animals” competition. It will run for three weeks, one winner a week scooping the €2000 prize. The original aim was no little critters allowed. Whats actually happened is a slight hijacking of the original plan, as the community of La Fraise prefer instead to fulfil their sadistic urges by submitting illustrations of cute animal murder. Shocking stuff. I’m informed the original no animals rule will be inforced for weeks two and three of the comp.

Bloggers Block
I’ve have bloggers block right now, which is probably why I’ve posted nothing but interviews in the past few weeks. They hide the fact that I’m struggling to find anything interesting to say, or the time to say it. I think its probably directly related to German beer but I have nothing to back that up…

HipHipUK meets Urban retro
Anyone that knows me will agree that I’m a frustrated entrepreneur, given too many good opportunities to give up the day job and take the full time plunge just yet. Thats probably why I’m interested in the process of creating a brand or setting up a store and tend to ask those sorts of business type questions in my interviews. I’d seen my next interviewee UrbanRetro mentioned on a few blogs and interviewed them briefly about their progress in establishing themselves in a crowded marketplace.

HipHipUK meets The Boy Fitz Hammond
I’ve been a TBFH fan for a while now and I’ve wanted an opportunity to feature him on HipHipUK. UK week is just that opportunity. For those of you new to Fitz you can look forward to beautifully drawn illustrations with masses of tongue in cheek humour. The thing I like most about Fitz is just how much of this humour and character comes through in his illustrations. Read the interview in the full post.
