So we’re a month or so into Tjunction. The plan was for me to learn about seo, affiliate links, adwords, regular site updating and to fill a niche, a niche I think could net high traffic.
Its been fairly slow, traffic is around 100 uniques a day, nice considering not much is coming in from google as there is little content yet. Deal submissions from readers have been low, but I’m convinced the theory is sound once the readership increases. The problem is finding the time to keep it running. I’ve been thinking about shutting it down and buying myself more time to write about others i’m interested in (my new personal/business fletchycorp blog for one).
I have one other potential solution. If anyone is interested I’d like to enlist as many other tshirt bloggers as possible. Lets build one central deals and sales database. The quickest way to reach a readership of one of the original blogs such as tcritic or preshrunk is to work together.
How would it work?
- Everyone has a posting account.
- Find a deal, write a post.
- Credit your blog as a via for recognition and traffic.
- Should you wish you can post your own affiliate links for your deals. Make a few $’s
- All other ad revenue (from sidebar etc) goes back into the swag bag, to encourage more deals.
- Add a “this service is a joint project of” and then all the contributing editors blogs.
Why?Â
- The concept is so simple, everyone likes to save money. This site should, in theory, be capable of generating more traffic than a generic tshirt blog once its established. So it should also be a good source of traffic back to the other tshirt blogs. If you write up the deal on your blog, you can just post a synopsis and link on tjunction.
Would anyone be interested in working with me on this project?

I’m trying to get HYA out of the echo chamber and back focusing on hoodies so something like this would be great for me. Count me in.
I know what you mean about T junction having the capability to be bigger than any other tee blog, if you look at the Threadless streetteam rankings the person to posts deals and coupons to couponit.com has the most points ever, a massive 14000+ since the middle of 2005. People hunt out deals and don’t mind clicking on referral links to get to them.
I’m down for it. The reason I don’t view the website all the time (like I do with other t-shirt blogs) is because I’m signed up to get the deals in my email.
so how do I join? Oh yeah, thanks Joe for telling me abt this
