ISO50 - New Prints
I’ve been a big fan of the prints over at ISO50 for a while. I thought now would be as good a time as any to do a post on them. They are the work of califronia artist Scott Hansen. Their name sounds a little bit like a government standard (well in the UK anyway), but the designs are anything but. As well as prints there are some really nice T’s, I have three of the prints and can vouch for their quality. Or at least I could before my girlfriend stole them.

Headline Shirts, making Headlines.
I have a favourite new t-shirt store and its the thoroughly excellent Headline Shirts. I’ve only just discovered them and their provocative range of current news story inspired satire. I took some time to talk with Headlines Jake Ginsky about the brand and the recently relaunched site.
“Headlines were founded in 2004 and based in San Francisco. the brand is not afraid to take sides or stir controversy. Its satirical designs take aim at politically sensitive issues such as foreign attitudes towards the U.S., racial inequality”
I bet the designs are real conversation starters. I found it really hard to pick just a few favourites, but here goes:
Noahs Dilemma
Sciences whipping boy, Creationism. The butt of so many jokes I like that in this tee the joke is more subtle. Each Tee has an accompanying news story or background information about the design. Excerpt from this one’s is
“Dinosaurs - or ‘Creation Lizards’ as they will henceforth be known - did not predate humans by some 200 million years. Rather, they walked with Adam and Eve and may have even had a hand in the Jesus’ crucifixion.” Brilliant!

Double Dutch pt.2 - Fresh Cotton (with promo code)
The Fresh Cotton range is easily good enough to warrant at least a post of its own. Its a dutch mecca of a t-shirt site with about 40 different brands from the household names of Paul Frank, Stussy etc to some great dutch and upcoming labels like the one in the previous post.
Prices range from brand to brand and its usually best to start with the sales section where they come in around €22.50 (£15, $22). The tee’s below are all in the sale (I can’t link directly to them because of the navigation used at Fresh Cotton so I’ve given the page n. within the sale section instead). Designs after the jump…

Double Dutch pt. 1
Okay so we are two days in now breaking my previous blogging records. I haven’t actually posted a t-shirt that I like yet as I’ve been doing these world cup themed posts. Today its the turn of Sweden to be humbled by an unconvincing England side destined to win 1-0 thanks to a headed goal from a set piece. Tommorow has what on paper should be the best game to date Holland v Argentina. Here are some dutch related post shenanigans.
Buutvrij For Life are a good dutch label that have some designs stocked at Fresh Cotton (more on FC later).
They designed this great
“Guess Who” inspired tee “Bill” (right). Or if you like you tee’s a little more political “Oil of Iraq” (left). The tee’s on their site are €27 (£18, $33). You might need to decipher the Dutch though to make an order. If not Fresh Cotton is your friend, they have these
two for €30 ($37, £20)
